I've always supported your choices until today SLS.I never cared about delays, about late balancement and stuff. But Honestly? Battlerite BR is a big fucking disrespect for most of the actual playerbase who enjoy playing battlerite, who PAID to support battlerite, and who is still around there from years.I welcomed the announcement for the BR, really.
It's not about reviving in the sense like, the original game is bad. I think the original game is good but not enough people know about it. However they can discover the game, they'll realize what we all know, Battlerite is a well designed game.I see making BR as just marketing with the benefit of also bringin more people under the umbrella of playing 'Battlerite' the game with also the chance of making a ton of money which they could then put back into the original if needed. My guess is spending money on basic marketing isn't as valuable as creating hype with another game mode that is 1: on trend and 2: easy to make when transitioning from your original game. OP has a point. I started playing this game on a whim because it was free on steam and I fell in love with it from game one.

I got my buddies to switch over and they had the same attitude. We come from League and this was a breath of fresh air, from the mechanics to the community for all parties.I invested money into BR because I enjoyed the arena content, thinking it would benefit the development of the game as it was (I was new so I didn't understand how SLS worked) so I understand where OP is coming from. I'm still hopeful that BRBR will attract enough players to give SLS the funds they need to focus on both game modes but I suppose that's just a dream. That being said, I emphasize 'focus on both game modes'. If BRBR becomes the norm and SLS pulls a 'daybreak' as OP mentioned, that's a slap in the face to the players that loved the game for what it was. I'm sure most of the community welcomes the new mode but please don't abandon what attracted us to the game in the first place.SLS, you still have a player base that cares.
Communicate with us a little better and we can benefit each other. BR IS a new game mode.I said 'competitive gamemode' and later on I even added 'competitive gamemode to pair with the current one'.Wow.
How incredibly useful this would be for all players who don't participate in tournaments. You don't know what the tournament mode is. It is for the casual players too, and was what made Bloodline champions great (even if it failed.). There are a lot of post on this sub that explains better than I could how the player base and the game could benefit from it.Focus on your game, focus on what make it fun, and expand on it.Like a new game mode? You see? Here is the problem in my opinion. Lot of people will play BRBR when it will release, but I'm sure the interest will drop fast. And those people won't care a single fuck about the 'main battlerite'.
I'll be happy to be proved wrong tho. I'm not as convinced as so many people here are about things like tournament mode and social features turning this game around. I'm sure it matters to many of you, especially if you have a ton of hours in the game, but it won't matter as much to most casual players.I think a Battle Royale mode is a much better shot at revitalizing the game, and that's why they're going with this risk. I would love it if Arena was more dynamic and if they gave champions more versatility, but one problem with Arena is that they have to keep it consistent and balanced because people take it pretty seriously. Having a separate game mode which is always going to be more casual is a great way to offer more for casual players and give them more room to play with it and push the boundaries.I'm still skeptical about the end result for many reasons, but at the same time I personally don't think that people on this subreddit have as good of answers to the problem as they think they have. Either that, or they come with big compromises. For what it's worth, I don't have any good answers for how they can move forward with Arena alone.
I think that's a really difficult problem to solve, so that's why I believe another game mode is needed.

Quite disappointed that you're not addressing the backlash from last week, you used to speak to the community directly and I miss that. Tournament mode eases the pain though, if that's implemented well It could definitely help player retention.
Looking forward to emotes also, they made things more interesting in BLC.One thing I never see mentioned is the update to champion level caps, all my mains have been sitting at level 20 for about a year now. Would be really nice to feel some level of progression while playing our favourite characters. All in all, not a terrible roadmap except a post detailing the decision on the paid separate gamemode would be highly appreciated. Someone pointed out in another thread that SLS seems to communicate like a AAA developer and that's definitely the case nowadays. Roadmap would be cool aside from this one line,We'll endeavour to keep you up to date throughout the rest of the year and update this roadmap as necessary. So not only did they not address the backlash, but they also made this roadmap 100% completely untrustable. Your players already doubt you, so this is the single dumbest line in this whole thing. After all that happened recently, this is the clear moment you need to communicate to your players that you're going to keep updating the game and give them a reason to. After hearing that I have no faith that anything here is actually going to be added aside from the events and seasons.SLS are such a dissapointment.
